Delivery of educational services in remote areas

• A minority francophone school board whose establishments are scattered to the four corners of a province must be innovative to deliver educational services to students in a frugal fiscal environment. How does the CÉF go about it?

Francophone identity construction in minority communities

• Why it matters and how do teachers go about it? Promoting personal and social development with each Francophone student so that they are able to define and recognize themselves as Francophone is a complex and multi-faceted process.

CÉF Community partnerships promote student achievement

•  Year after year, dozens of partnerships with local and provincial community organizations are nurtured within the CÉF. These partnerships enrich educational programming in schools and promote student achievement.

Why choose a teaching career in a minority Francophone school board?

• The question arises frequently. The answers are many, but it often comes down to a personal and professional commitment to language, culture and community engagement in a demographic setting where preventing assimilation is a daily struggle.

 "Francophone bubble" activities promote solidarity and nurture belonging in the francophone community

• Activities such as CÉFOU, Fransaskois Law Day, Fransaskois Youth Leadership Workshops and CÉF Games are activities that play a key role in instilling a sense of belonging to the francophone community. These "bubbles" allow CÉF Francophone students to get together and network in an educational setting.

Regina, September 25, 2024 - Conseil des écoles fransaskoises (CÉF) welcomes the announcement today by the Government of Saskatchewan of sites for new schools in Saskatoon (in the Kensington neighbourhood) and in Prince Albert (near the Alfred Jenkins Field House).

"We are very pleased that the Government of Saskatchewan recognizes the need for French-speaking families to have new schools in Saskatoon and Prince Albert," said Conseil Scolaire Fransaskois Chair, Alpha Barry. "These infrastructures will help meet our educational needs. Our school division will continue to work with the Province to ensure that all Fransaskois students have access to the resources and infrastructure they need to ensure their full development. »

For his part, Minister of Education, Jeremy Cockrill expressed his appreciation of the efforts made on both sides:

“The sites selected for these schools indicate progress and increased opportunities for our communities,” Education Minister Jeremy Cockrill said. “These schools hold great significance for Saskatchewan’s Francophone community and are essential for maintaining language, culture and identity. We are excited to be a part of these projects that will support Francophone students and their families for years to come.”

CÉF CEO/Director of Education, Ronald Ajavon expressed his thanks to the parents and the Fransaskois community as a whole for its continuous commitment and collaboration in the development of the Fransaskois school system:

French first-language school today, bilingual Francophone for life! - Conseil des écoles fransaskoises (CÉF) is home to more than 2,000 Prekindergarten to Grade 12 students in 15 elementary and secondary schools across the province. Financed by the Ministry of Education, it is the only French as a first language school board in Saskatchewan.

Regina, June 29, 2023 – A groundbreaking ceremony will be held today to announce the construction of a new francophone elementary school that will serve families residing in northern Regina.

"Regina's Fransaskois have been waiting for this moment for many years," said Alpha Barry, Chair of the Conseil scolaire fransaskois (CSF). “Needless to say, we are very happy that the construction project has finally started. This new school will benefit our families and our community in so many ways. »

Regina, June 12, 2023 - The University of Regina and Conseil des écoles fransaskoises (CÉF) have signed a memorandum of understanding in an agreement to work cooperatively in supporting CÉF students transitioning to the U of R.

Regina, Monday, March 22, 2023 – Conseil des Écoles Fransaskoises (CÉF) is very pleased with the announcement made today as part of the presentation of the 2023-2024 Saskatchewan budget which provides for the construction of two new schools for the Fransaskois communities of Prince Albert and Saskatoon.

“We wish to express our gratitude to the provincial government,” said Conseil Scolaire Fransaskois (CSF) Chair Alpha Barry. "We hope to welcome students in time for the start of the 2025 school year."

Regina, June 23, 2020 - Conseil des écoles fransaskoises (CÉF) welcomes the Government of Saskatchewan’s funding announcement today for a new school in Regina’s northern sector.

Regina, June 22, 2020 – Each year, the month of June serves to remind us of the role First Nations people played in establishing our communities here in Saskatchewan and elsewhere in Canada. June is National Indigenous History Month and June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day. The numbered treaties are solemn agreements establishing shared use of territories and resources in order to coexist harmoniously in the environment in which we find ourselves. First Nations people knew the riches of the land, the sources of water, the contributions of animals, the secrets of plants, the benefits of sharing and the importance of giving back to the land, long before the arrival of newcomers from away.

Regina, June 18, 2020 – Conseil des écoles fransaskoises schools are preparing to welcome back students and staff in September in accordance with the guidelines issued today by the Government of Saskatchewan.

The Government had announced on June 9 that students in Saskatchewan from Prekindergarten to Grade 12 would return to schools in September to continue their learning.

Regina, March 14, 2017 - The Conseil Scolaire Fransaskois (CSF) -- Saskatchewan's Francophone board of trustees -- is opposed to any budget cuts imposed by the provincial government for fiscal year 2017-2018.

"The Conseil des écoles fransaskoises (CÉF) has done its homework and raised its financial situation in recent years through considerable sacrifices," said CSF Chair Christiane Guérette.

Regina, August 10, 2016 – The Conseil des écoles fransaskoises - Saskatchewan’s Francophone school division appointed André Messier as Deputy Executive Director of Education, CÉF’s Executive Director of Education Bernard Roy announced today.
