TWO FRANCOPHONE SCHOOLS ANNOUNCED FOR SASKATOON AND PRINCE ALBERT
Regina, September 25, 2024 - Conseil des écoles fransaskoises (CÉF) welcomes the announcement today by the Government of Saskatchewan of sites for new schools in Saskatoon (in the Kensington neighbourhood) and in Prince Albert (near the Alfred Jenkins Field House).
"We are very pleased that the Government of Saskatchewan recognizes the need for French-speaking families to have new schools in Saskatoon and Prince Albert," said Conseil Scolaire Fransaskois Chair, Alpha Barry. "These infrastructures will help meet our educational needs. Our school division will continue to work with the Province to ensure that all Fransaskois students have access to the resources and infrastructure they need to ensure their full development. »
For his part, Minister of Education, Jeremy Cockrill expressed his appreciation of the efforts made on both sides:
“The sites selected for these schools indicate progress and increased opportunities for our communities,” Education Minister Jeremy Cockrill said. “These schools hold great significance for Saskatchewan’s Francophone community and are essential for maintaining language, culture and identity. We are excited to be a part of these projects that will support Francophone students and their families for years to come.”
CÉF CEO/Director of Education, Ronald Ajavon expressed his thanks to the parents and the Fransaskois community as a whole for its continuous commitment and collaboration in the development of the Fransaskois school system:

French first-language school today, bilingual Francophone for life! - Conseil des écoles fransaskoises (CÉF) is home to more than 2,000 Prekindergarten to Grade 12 students in 15 elementary and secondary schools across the province. Financed by the Ministry of Education, it is the only French as a first language school board in Saskatchewan.

Regina, June 29, 2023 – A groundbreaking ceremony will be held today to announce the construction of a new francophone elementary school that will serve families residing in northern Regina.
