Dear parents and guardians,

We recognize that the increase in the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases this weekend raises several questions and concerns. CÉF is in constant communication with the Ministry of Education and follows the recommendations of Saskatchewan’s Chief Medical Health Officer regarding school closure options.

We expect everyone who is not feeling well to stay home and monitor for possible symptoms of COVID-19. We also invite parents to continue to report their child's absence from school.

As a precaution, the parent-student-teacher meetings that were to take place on Thursday, March 19 are postponed to a later date.

Dear parents and guardians,

Given the recent developments surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19), we would like to inform you that our teams at CÉF are already taking steps to ensure your children and our employees have access to a safe and healthy learning and work environment. CÉF has implemented an Action Plan in our schools to counter COVID-19 - this Action Plan is available  on the CÉF website.

 We are committed to preventing possible cases of contagion. All our schools have therefore started phase 1 of the Action   Plan: Prevention.

On November 9th, 2016, École Beau Soleil (ÉBS) and École Mathieu de Gravelbourg (ÉMG) held its Remembrance Day Ceremony. After some words of welcome offered by the schools’ principal, Mrs. Rosalie Lizée, the grade 8 to 11 students in the school band played «Ô Canada» under the direction of the music teacher, Mrs. Janique Wilson.

On October 18^th, members of the Gravelbourg Fire Department offered a presentation and activities at l'école Beau Soleil. During this presentation, the Kindergarten to Grade 3 students learned safety steps to take if they’re in their home when a fire breaks out. These students and the EBS staff would like to extend a sincere thank you to the firefighters Mr. Anthony Lorrain and Mr. Chris McIvor for having taken the time from their busy schedule to offer this hands-on presentation!

On Friday, September 16^th, the daycare Le Tounesol, École Beau Soleil, and École Mathieu de Gravelbourg took part in the Terry Fox Walk. ÉBS and ÉMG have participated in this event for over 20 consecutive years. Thanks to the generosity of all those who offered donations and pledges, the schools were able to collect $2364 for the Canadian Cancer Society. ÉBS, ÉMG, and the daycare Le Tournesol would like to extend a special thank you to the Gravelbourg RCMP detachment for its kind assistance during this activity.

Let us welcome you back on occasion of the CÉF's inauguration of the 2016-2017 school year. You will find that our school staff is genuinely involved in the educational mission of the CÉF, which is committed to the academic success of your child. In our schools, you will meet other parents like you who want the best education for their children, not only in French first language, but also the very best education available anywhere in Saskatchewan.

The considerable reduction of the CÉF's long-term debt and the adoption by the Francophone school Board of a balanced budget in 2016-2017, will allow the organization to begin the school year in a context that will better enable it to fulfill its mission than it has been in the recent past.

The Conseil des écoles fransaskoises wishes to provide you with pertinent information regarding transportation services for the 2016-2017 school-year.

The transportation form is now available in the “Parents” section on the CÉF’s web site at www.ecolefrancophone.com .  We ask that every family complete a separate form for each child.

Here are the latest news and happenings this month at École de Bellegarde:

• Congratulations to Jacob Dumaine who competed at the district level in badminton on May 7^th in Moosomin. He put in a great effort during that tournament!

The musical artist Kattam is currently touring our province in order to offer his highly popular French school presentation Kattam et ses Tam-Tams. This percussionist who currently resides in Montreal is presenting his show in more than fourteen schools throughout Saskatchewan. On March 10th, our schools in Gravelbourg had the pleasure of welcoming the artist : Gravelbourg Elementary School in the morning and École Beau Soleil in the afternoon. École Ducharme in Moose Jaw was also in attendance at ÉBS.
