Regina, Monday, August 18, 2014 - The Conseil des écoles fransaskoises (CÉF) is announcing the nomination of Dolorèse Nolette as Acting Deputy Director, Education, and of Claude-Jean Harel as Communications Manager.

"Dolorèse Nolette has extensive experience in school adjustment, educational programming (French as a first language), change management and governance. Over the last 36 years, she has held positions as a teacher, director of a French-language school board and director of Academic Affairs and Governance, at Campus Saint-Jean at the University of Alberta."

Since 2012, Ms. Nolette has been the director of the Réseau provincial d'adaptation scolaire. As part of this mandate, she led a team of consultants working across Alberta in collaboration with learning teams in Francophone schools in order to respond to the specific needs of these students.

Over the last 15 years, Ms. Nolette has been responsible for orchestrating adjustments and changes made necessary by government mandates in her birth province. She is particularly well-equipped to handle the reorganization of the CÉF's Educational Services. [note 1].

Ms. Nolette will work in close collaboration with the Acting Director of Education, Donald Michaud:

"In recruiting Dolorèse Nolette, the CÉF is gaining one of the most highly-qualified resources in Canada in the field of French language education," noted Donald Michaud. "Her personal skills and professional successes will allow her to make a unique contribution to the success of the Fransaskois education system."

At the same time, Claude-Jean Harel will be in charge of CÉF communications going forward. Following on his rich and diverse experience as a professional communicator, in both the minority Francophone community in Saskatchewan, as well as among the Anglophone majority, Mr. Harel has been working as business communications consultant since 1998. He has extensive experience in strategic planning and partnership development in Canada and in the United States, as well as within professional, governmental and university networks. Originally from Quebec, he has lived in Saskatchewan for 35 years.

Mr. Harel began his communications career as a columnist, journalist and producer working for Radio-Canada and CBC in Saskatchewan from 1985 to 2012. His reports received awards from the Canadian Ethnic Media Association, l'Office des communications sociales, as well as a nomination at the New York Festivals for a UNESCO award. Before beginning employment with the CÉF, he was a business communications consultant at SaskTel Telecommunications.
