Dear Parents and Guardians,
Conseil des écoles fransaskoises (CÉF) is offering workshops on the awareness and prevention of cyberaddiction. Cyberaddiction is the problematic use of the Internet and of new technologies. It can lead to feelings of distress and problems at the psychological, social, or professional level. The goal of our cyberaddiction awareness initiative is to provide information on the problematic use of the Internet and technology, as well as providing potential solutions for the healthy use of technology. All of this, to prevent cyberaddiction.
We are pleased to offer a workshop to all our parents, on Tuesday 28 September at 7pm. The workshop will be in French on the Zoom platform, which you can access through the following link: https://cefsk.zoom.us/j/83283824997
Please note that we will provide an English version of the presentation which you will be able to access in the days following the September 28th workshop.
The approximately one-hour workshop will address the following:
- Addictive elements associated with applications (social networks and video games);
- The problem of cyberaddiction and hyperconnectivity;
- The needs met by the Internet;
- Signs and symptoms of problematic Internet use;
- How to manage healthy use of technologies at home.
Thanks to a grant from Saskatchewan’s Ministry of Education and Réseau Santé en français de la Saskatchewan, CÉF is developing cyberaddiction workshops and training for Grades 5 to 12 students, school staff and you, the parents.
We hope to see many of you on September 28!
